| I've got three guest passes that I got from the collector's edition.
Wasn't planning on spending the extra money for it, but it came with a communicator pin, and I rarely resist the opportunity to spread my geekiness to the world, so...
Anyway, the guest passes are for 10 days. _________________ |

| I confess I started playing this over the weekend. I'm up to level 16 so far. It seems fairly easy to this point. Gold spammers like you wouldn't believe filling up global chat! Qudoba@Qudoba is my handle. _________________ |

| I've found that the quickest way to level, or power-grind in this case, is to take the "Defend ____ Sector" missions. Then fly to an enemy contact on the map, and just instance jump through them until you find one that has #/9 Squads defeated. If you get lucky, you'll come across an instance that has 7/9 or 8/9 and get there just in time to get credit for the completion. Then, instead of warping back to sector space, instance jump back into another one and keep going.
Since you can receive and turn in missions through the comm channels, you don't even have to leave, although there is some time limit between getting the same repeatable mission. I think it's like 20 minutes or so.
Same kind of thing for the "Explore ____ Cluster" missions too. You can grind out exploration badges pretty quickly if you abandon combat missions and focus on finding "Investigate Planet" or "Collect Anomaly Data" missions. Same thing as the defense missions, there's a 20 minute time limit on retaking the quest. But it's a quick way to get your ship and your away team geared up with greens and blues.
tl;dr version: go read what I wrote, it's basically me teaching you ways to cheat before they nerf them. _________________ |

| Hehe. I've been doing a lot of the defend sector missions, and I have gotten lucky a couple times jumping in on one almost complete. I turned off the auto-grouping. Is that bad? Do I get the same XP solo or should I take the auto invites? The missions seem to all count just the same. _________________ |

| I think you get the xp regardless of being in a group or not for the defense missions. The patrol missions are the ones you get auto-grouped for. _________________ |

| So tonight I saw a Kalamity, same spelling, flying around STO. I told Reyna about it in vent but we didn't know if it was our Kal. So I said "Well, I don't see Bossa following so maybe not." LOL
Then I asked Auggy if he knew and he asked me if I saw a Bossa following it. LMAO _________________ |

| The novelty of the fact that this is Star Trek wears thin pretty quickly. This game was rushed out the door, and it becomes clear real soon. It's got a lot of problems (as evidenced by a 59+ page thread on the main forums of things people want added) and if a lot of them aren't fixed, STO will go the way of SWG toot-fucking-sweet, in that people will trudge through crap update after crap update simply because it's Star Trek.
If you're expecting an awesome game that's gonna hook you instantly and keep you hooked, it's probably best just to watch some of the movies instead, because you're going to be disappointed.
That being said, the fact that it's Star Trek makes it worth sticking around for a little while, if only to see if Cryptic's gonna get it's shit together and make it worth playing. _________________ |

| I played open beta and umn....there's still issues i had then that are not resolved now. SO I doubt very seriously I'll buy the game. Can't say never cause if they do add a fully functional Klingon faction, i may try it out again _________________ |
